Sunday 12 June
9:30am - 1:00pm at Alderfen Marshes
Surlingham, Norwich, NR14 7AW

Spoon carving is not only an enjoyable craft skill, it’s also incredibly relaxing and meditative. Join Monica for an afternoon outside in nature, working with your hands at Alderfen Marshes, a SSSI conservation site.
Suitable for beginners or those who have some basic spoon carving knowledge but would like a refresher, this workshop provides an accessible introduction to the craft of carving spoons using locally sourced green wood and professional tools.

- All materials and tools are provided, with tea and coffee available. Please bring your own mug and snacks to comply with COVID regulations.

 - This is an outdoors, all-weather course. Sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing and layers are strongly recommended.

- Due to the nature of working with axes, knives and other sharp tools, all students must be 18+ (or 16+ if accompanied by an adult).

Monica has extensive experience in wood craft. She started carving over 6 years ago and has offered several courses as a way of highlighting par-avion co.’s commitment to heritage craft and ecologically minded design, as well as the importance of skill sharing, creative community and mindfulness.
