Spoon carving is not only an enjoyable craft skill, it’s also incredibly relaxing and meditative. Join Monica for an afternoon outside in nature, working with your hands at Alderfen Marshes, a SSSI conservation site.
Suitable for beginners or those who have some basic spoon carving knowledge but would like a refresher, this workshop provides an accessible introduction to the craft of carving spoons using locally sourced green wood and professional tools.

- All materials and tools are provided, with tea and coffee available. Please bring your own mug and snacks to comply with COVID regulations.

 - This is an outdoors, all-weather course. Sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing and layers are strongly recommended.

- Due to the nature of working with axes, knives and other sharp tools, all students must be 18+ (or 16+ if accompanied by an adult).

Monica has extensive experience in wood craft. She started carving 5+ years ago and has offered several courses as a way of highlighting par-avion co.’s commitment to heritage craft and ecologically minded design, as well as the importance of skill sharing, creative community and mindfulness.
