Advanced Spoon Carving Workshop
$41.68 – $62.53
9:30am – 1:00pm at Alderfen Marshes
As a follow on from our Beginners Spoon Carving Workshop, we now offer this Advanced Course on the following day. This workshop will also take place outside at Alderfen Marshes, a SSSI conservation site just outside Norwich, Norfolk.
Available to anyone who has taken our Beginner’s Course in the past, or who already has basic spoon carving knowledge but wants to learn more, this workshop provides students the opportunity to use more advanced carving tools and teaches basic axe and knife maintenance. You will get to try out tools such as a froe, shave horse, draw knife and an adze. You will also learn how to hone your axe edge and use different types of sharpening methods to hone and maintain your knife blades.
This course can be taken as a follow on from the Beginner’s course on the previous day and you can further refine the spoon you started or else we will have blanks to start with on the day. Follow on tips for caring for your item such as burnishing, sanding and finishing will also be discussed.
